Spain

The situation of young people in our country is determined by this fact:

The youth unemployment rate in Spain reached 43.5% in February 2011, (the average in Europe is 20.4% ). It means that almost one of every two young Spanish people are unemployed, as recorded by the Institute of Economic Research (IEE) from data published by Eurostat. This horrible data influences in a negative way to the students mindset and perspectives, and because of that, the dropout levels in our country are among the highest in Europe, reaching a percentage of 31.2%.

Despite this, the results of the ESADE Business School poll on attitudes towards Spanish youth entrepreneurship, show positive attitudes towards creativity, challenges and a high locus of internal control. Also, 80% imagine creating a company in the future. However, to more specific issues of entrepreneurship and investing the money, only 33% would be predisposed to starting a business.
